Google – The Digital Garage Returns to Inverness
We at #hellodigital have been proud to be partnered with Google’s Digital Garage throughout 2016. Our core purpose is to bring industry experts to the Highlands and Islands so that the local business community can learn about and implement the latest digital technology, helping them to promote and grow their online activity. Working with the Digital Garage, which was founded in 2015, fits the bill perfectly with its aim to support UK businesses by helping them to learn digital skills, and they’ve had a great impact in this region.
Over 170 Highlands and Islands businesses and entrepreneurs have benefitted from Digital Garage seminars and one-to-one sessions. They made their debut here in the Highlands in March at the Discover Digital Conference in Inverness. The Digital Garage was also one of the first partner events run by #hellodigital at the beginning of April which saw 45 businesses get tailor-made digital advice over the course of two days.
There are just two more chances to catch the Digital Garage with us in Inverness.
On Monday 21 November, the Digital Garage for Google will ‘pop-up’ at #hellodigital. Their trainer will lead a session called Know your Business with Google Analytics from 13:00 – 14:30.
This session focuses on Google Analytics. It looks at the importance of digital analytics and how to use a tool such as Google Analytics to collect data, understand insights and create goals for your business.
#hellodigital have also invited the Digital Garage to this year’s Highland Tourism Conference on Tuesday 22 November at Eden Court. It might be your last chance to catch the Google experts in Inverness! The conference is fully booked at this point in time, but you can add your name to the waiting list here.
If you already have your place on the conference then watch out for the Digital Garage sessions. There will be a training session called ‘Reach New Customers Online’. It will cover how to make your business more visible online to help new customers find you through search optimisation, local listings and search engine marketing.
There will also be drop-in mentoring sessions during the breaks and lunchtime exhibition where you can get advice and ask questions about growing your business online as well as discuss your digital business needs. It doesn’t matter whether you’re starting out or already have an established business, the Google experts are happy to help with anything from getting a business idea to take off online to analytics and SEO.
Although this might be the Digital Garage’s last visit to Inverness, they’re still going to have a presence in Scotland with their digital training centre at Glasgow's Mitchell Library where they will continue to offer digital skills support and classes until the end of January next year. You can register for training here.
It’s been an absolute pleasure working with the Digital Garage experts on numerous occasions this year, and we would like to thank them for a great partnership in 2016!
“In the digital age, a basic understanding of how the online world works is useful; and when it comes to business, it’s essential. We are welcoming all attendees to attend seminars delivered by Google's Digital Garage experts and learn more about how digital can help them grow.”
- Eileen Naughton, Google’s Managing Director for UK & Ireland
